WIEDEMAYER, Gene Weldon

February 4, 1948 – July 7, 2022

Gene was born in New Westminster, BC to parents Robert & Ella Wiedemayer, the 4th of 5 children.  He moved to Alberta in 1977 working as a forklift operator with WinRock for 30+ years. He found his soulmate when he met Marianne, and they loved being outdoors finding new adventures in the mountains and parks  near Calgary until her passing in 2015.

Gene was a kind & gentle man, who never turned away from his friends or family when they were in need. To cherish his memory he leaves his sister Lydia Wiedemayer (the oldest of the 5 children), his nieces Naomi Krasey & Juanita (Wally) Bruch (Brian Andrews) and his adopted furry friend Donnie. He was our “Lone Ranger” and though his voice is silent now, it will live in our hearts forever.

Our deepest gratitude to the staff of South Campus & Foothills for their kindness and dedication to his care.

Condolences to Gene’s family and close friends. I worked for years with Gene at WinRock, and he was not only a hard working man; he was a leader and a great friend. When I think about the time I worked there, Gene was a big part of my happiest memories. He was a gentle and kind man with a heart of gold, and he will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
