TUPPER, Dora
December 6, 1922 – September 3, 2022
Dora joins her husband Errold and daughter Rennie deep in our hearts and our best memories. She passed peacefully with family by her side. Dora is survived by Laurie, Jill, Shawn (Michael), and Devon (Kevin); three grandchildren Brae (Gord), Cole and Dakota (Austin); a great-grandson Renn and dozens of nieces and nephews all over the continent. Dora will be fondly remembered by many lifelong friends, especially by Christina, Grant and Edith. She was predeceased by her parents Mable and Bill Hill and her sister Hazel and brother-in-law Don Shantz.
Some will remember her for vast amounts of delicious food and setting extra spaces at our dinner table, or her quirky humour, or being introduced to jazz music. Others might recall the Sewing Club, Sunday afternoons with the Jensen’s or funny stories that might involve a sudden slip and slide down a muddy campground hill, train-case still in hand. But what we will all carry with us every minute of every day is what she and dad gave us – the joy of a loving family and friends, security, a home, the will and ability to be ourselves and to succeed at what we choose to do. We cannot thank them enough for all they gifted to us.
And Doe, you can stop worrying, it’s now up to us to make sure no one is “left out”. We love you and will miss you.
Our family wants to thank the incredible team of medical and care staff at Newport Harbour for their support and care over these past few years. In lieu of flowers we would ask for donations to be made to the Calgary Eye Foundation (https://calgaryeyefoundation.org/donate/)
A memorial service and reception will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Pierson’s Funeral Home, 4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.

To Laurie and family. Sorry to hear about your mom’s passing, we know you will miss her. Gerard and Celia, Calgary.
It was unusual to be raised by 3 compassionate women, and I am glad that happened to me. Hazel, Dora, and Nana Hill. Now they are all gone. They all shared compassion for others, a wild sense of humour, and a love of family. Aunt Dora was special and I am glad to be raised by all 3 women and especially Aunt Dora.
Blessings to cousins, Laurie, Jill, Shawn, and Devon. We morn with you.
My most heartfelt empathies to you all following this loss of a truly magnificent Lady.
I’m grateful I had the fortunate to spend as much time as I did with her and have only fond memories.
Please know if I am unable to attend that I will be sending every fibre of my being to be there with you through this loss and beyond.
Sincerely,
Jeff
To Shawn and family — a lovely and loving tribute to your Mother. Deepest sympathies to all. Dilys
