TRUDGEON, Colone Teddy
September 18, 1947 – January 23, 2017
Courageously battling cancer for a second time, Colone Teddy Trudgeon suddenly but peacefully passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary Alberta on January 23rd, 2017, at the age of 69.
Colone is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Cheryle, as well as his daughters, Michelle (James) and Jamie (Zach), and his sister, Penelope. He was predeceased by his sisters, Zandra (Albert), and Patrice, his brother, Bradly (Marianne), Mother, Gem, and Father, Edwin. Many other family members and friends miss him dearly, sharing countless stories of Colone’s true zest for life and unyielding spirit.
Originally from London Ontario, Colone moved to Alberta with Cheryle and were married in Waterton Park in 1976. They resided in Lethbridge for many years, where he was a flying instructor at the Lethbridge Flying Club. They spent their free time outdoors, fishing, canoeing, skiing and camping. In 1985 they moved to their beautiful acreage west of Cochrane, where Colone pursued his passions of woodworking, log building and mechanical work. He was a long time aviation mechanic with Field Aviation, and made many new friends through a renewed affection for motorcycles in recent years. Colone adored his Sunday School students at Cochrane Alliance Church, and was grateful for the support and kinship he found in the men’s group there. No matter the weather, he loved going for walks on Jamieson Road with his family and good buddy, Saska the dog.
Words cannot describe how much he will be missed, but we find comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain and has found peace with the Lord.
A Celebration of Colone’s life will be held at Bow Valley Baptist Church (54 W Aarsby Rd, Cochrane, AB) on Friday February 17th at 2:00, everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, online at www.cancer.ca/en/donate or by mail to Canadian Cancer Society, Suite 200, 325 Manning Rd. NE, Calgary AB, T2E 2P5

Colone was a dear friend of mine. We spent hours together talking about things that were important in life. He will be missed by many. Cheryl, Jamie and Michelle, know that we will not forget about you in the days ahead. We are here to help you as you grieve the loss of a husband and dad. Pastor Larry
Colone – You are now in God’s presence enjoying God’s peace, free of bodily suffering and pain…enjoying God’s joy, which you so freely showered us with when we were in your company because it emanated from your soul…enjoying God’s righteousness, which you longed for so many of us to experience here on earth. Now you know that the kingdom of God is not about temporal things but the eternal realities of righteousness, peace and joy nurtured by God’s Holy Spirit. Now you know! We are all very happy for you, even though we are going to miss you. Your friend and soulmate – Pastor Steve
Cheryle, Michelle and Jamie,
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of a husband, father, brother, cousin and friend. Colone will be greatly missed by all of us. Doug and I especially will cherish the summer we were visiting with family and had the chance to meet with Colone and catch up on some years of being a part. Life had changed dramatically for him because of his faith in Jesus Christ. He told us of his love of teaching the little children in his church Sunday School and of his desire for all to know Jesus like he knew Him. He was a vibrant witness of the gospel and many benefited because of that. We need more Colones in the world, but heaven has gained another star. We will miss being at Colone’s Celebration of Life service but will be remembering and praying for you.
Cheryl, Jamie and Michelle–my family wants you to know that we grew to love and appreciate Colone a great deal this past decade. He touched our lives in many different ways–from teaching the girls in Sunday School to showing Cindy and I how to look life from a different perspective. He inspired us all in his battle against cancer, his interest and compassion for the people around him and his love for God. We miss him already. Praying for you all.
