SUTHERLAND, Norene Loretta

January 7, 1935 – September 18, 2020
Norene Loretta Sutherland passed away peacefully on September 18, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Norene was such a dedicated and nurturing mother to her daughter Tracy and her son Jamie. Norene is predeceased by her only sister Marlene Wallace and her brothers Bill and Bob Edwards.
Norene is known as Aunty No in her family circle of nieces, nephews and her great nieces and nephews. Norene also had another family for over 59 years – all of her sisters at her sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She was a committed sister to their work and generosity. She will be missed by all of her close sisters at Beta Sigma Phi.
We can all put a smile on our faces knowing Mom was a fighter, she could talk about nothing for hours, and well we know how stubborn she could be.
The family would like to thank the Southwood Hospice for their dedication and loving care Mom received while she was there.
A private Celebration of Norene’s Life will be held on September 25th at the Pierson’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4121 – 17 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB.

Jamie and Tracy we will miss your beautiful mother Norene and our times of celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter together. We enjoyed being with her and your family visiting, laughing, being grateful, feasting, and talking about our pets. Perhaps she is dancing right now in joy at the reunion with her loved ones. What a beautiful soul Norene was. We are smiling at her memory and what she gave us with her company. May she be resting in eternal peace and Heavenly paradise. Anne, Dave & Sok
I had the pleasure of getting to know Norene and Tracy as I parked in front of their home before walking over to my office. They were grateful for the exchange of cinnamon buns while I parked in front of their home. I knew that they kept an eye on my vehicle as they questioned me when I parked a different vehicle there.
Both Norene and Tracy were happy to visit whenever I stopped by.
When I took the opportunity to shovel snow for them they were so appreciative of my help.
I will miss my visits with Norene but I hope to be in touch with Tracy to see how she is doing.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Norene. She was such an elegant and happy sister of Beta Sigma Phi. She always had such a lovely smile on her face!
My condolences to the family. May you remember all the happy times together.
