STILLING, Sheila Alice Grace (nee Hall)

March 7, 1934 – December 12, 2021

Sheila Alice Grace Stilling (nee: Hall) passed on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the age of 87. Sheila leaves her 5 children Shelley (Howard) McWilliam, Riley, Dana (Don) Goedbloed, Kelly & Tammy, Jill (Jeremy) Allen and her 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sheila was born in New West Minister, BC, March 7, 1934, moved to Alberta in 1950, met Bruce Stilling in Peace River and married Bruce in 1953.

Sheila loved her community, beginning with her family and reaching out to the local Grande Prairie community (for 50 years). As well Sheila and Bruce were very passionate and involved with provincial and federal politics. Sheila was also a fashionista, her flare for clothing was enjoyed by many! Sheila lived her dream of travelling to many countries, her favorite destination being Hawaii!

For the past 8 years, Sheila resided in Cochrane, Alberta and brought her love of community with her, contributing greatly with her honest and straight forward manner, to Seniors on the Bow and all those that met her.

All Sheila’s children were blessed to have a goodbye with their Mom, the grace of love for their Mom present in abundance.

Sheila knew many people in the Peace Country, Cochrane and beyond and would have liked to have said goodbye or farewell to all those she has met through the years. This is farewell from Sheila!

I met Sheila when my mother moved into Grande Avenue. Sheila was a pleasure to chat with and her quick mind and her willingness to get involved were greatly appreciated. Sheila and I became quite good friends and I valued her perspectives and insights. What a string and competent woman !

Our deepest sympathies to The Stilling family. Living next door in Grande Prairie our families became great friends and neighborly support to each other. Our moms had the opportunity to reconnect via telephone last summer thanks to Sheila persevering and reaching out! I understand Sheila was very kind and lent her little car to my mom on occasion in Grande Praire too. They enjoyed remembering that together.

Our very best to all of you with fond memories of earlier years.
