ROSATI, Marisa
January 2, 1958 – January 8, 2021
Marisa Rosati, 63, passed away on 8 January 2021 in Bragg Creek.
Marisa was born in Roccamorice, Italy to Donato and Rosalia on 2 January 1958. At the age of three, her family emigrated to Canada in 1961, settling in Hamilton, Ontario. She spent her childhood exploring the creek and grassland beside her parents’ house. Marisa moved from Hamilton to Calgary, Alberta when she was twenty-five and gave birth to her daughter Sarah two years later. Marisa was a proud and doting mother and enjoyed visits with her baby girl to Ontario to visit her siblings and nieces and nephews.
Marisa had a successful career in Calgary, but always dreamed of owning her own restaurant. She and Sarah would frequently dine out and discuss her big plans. That dream came true when she found an opportunity at the Steak Pit in Bragg Creek. She immediately saw the potential and fell in love with the rich history and charm of the business and community it was part of. Following the flood in 2013 Marisa found her next restaurant venture in the Mountain Bistro Pizzeria, where she proudly served the community until her passing.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She had a big and bright smile and her eyes would water when she laughed. She was adventurous and loved to travel to new places near and far. She loved to chat. Cooking was her passion and if you were invited over for dinner it was always a special occasion. She had an eye for beautiful things. Her community was an important part of her life and she cherished her friends in it. She loved to make her grandson laugh and would call daily to see him. She was strong, ambitious, and kind. She loved her family with all of her heart.
Marisa is survived by her daughter Sarah, son-in law David, grandson Oisin, and siblings Connie, Grace, Livia, Roseanne and Gus.
Marisa we love you, we miss you, and you will always be with us.

Dear Marisa:
You were my very best friend for the last 23 years and I am writing this through tears on coming to terms with your passing. It was too sudden and you did not deserve to go so early. You still had so much living to do. I will never have a friend like you and I will forever cherish the time that we had together. We had been through so much together in our the time that we had and I am so heartbroken along with everyone else that loved you. I will never forget you and all the great fun (and all the trouble that we got into) that we had on our adventures. I am still going to take that trip that we were planning in March by myself and when I get there I am going to raise a glass of wine to you. Goodbye my friend and I will see you on the other side one day.
David Sarah and family thinking of you all at this sad time rest in peace
