PEAKES, Darryl Ottorino

September 22, 1946 – May 9, 2019
At the age of 72 years, Darryl Ottorino Peakes passed away with peace and grace on May 9th with his family by his side. Darryl was dearly loved by his wife Christine, daughters Julie and Jeanette (Wayne), grandchildren Matthew, Grace, Kenzie and many loyal and caring family and friends.
Darryl was born in Birmingham England and immigrated to Fort McMurray Alberta in 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cheering on the Edmonton Oilers. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandad.
A Celebration of Darryl’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 (114 Fifth Ave, Cochrane, AB) on Thursday, May 16th. Doors open at 12pm and a service will commence at 1pm.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Foothills Dialysis Unit, Dr. Cheng from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Dr. Quinn and nurses at the Sheldon Chumir Center and Dr Kawakami at the Rockyview General Hospital who helped give us an extra 6yrs with him.

Chrissy, Julie, Jeanette, Ali and I were so so sorry to hear of Darryl’s passing, Darryl was a very special friend to Ali and I and so is your mom, we have many fond memories and shared many fun and loving times together, we always consider you as family, we may be miles away and don’t speak often but Ali and I reminisce often about the great times we shared in Fort McMurray and of the life time friends we have made over the years , Darryl was a fun loving man who dearly loved his family and was very proud of his girls and grandkids, it was an honour to know Darryl and be part of his family and life, you will certainly be missed my friend, and you’ll be in our hearts forever, love you all and cherish the memories, love always Peg and Ali

We had so many good times when we lived next to Darryl and his family in Ft. Mac. My sympathies to Christine and her family as they go through this valley. You are going to be missed Darryl.

Had lots of laughs with Darryl over the years, we were working for Gray Goose and it was wash day for Darryl bus. he pick up the girl’s to drop off at school, I picked up the broom and swept his bus ,when one of the girls came home that night she told her mother Daddy has a maid she swept his bus, We hade lots of laughs about that.
Darryl will be greatly missed, RIP my dear friend..condolence to his family. hugs..
