PATTERSON, Dorothy (nee Postlethwaite)

July 3, 1921 – January 25, 2023

Dorothy was born and raised in the Bottrel area. Dorothy was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.

Dorothy is survived by her son Jim; daughter Doreen (George) Hindes; sister-in-law Rita Postlethwaite; eight grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1979; her son Ron in 2017 and ten siblings over time.

Dorothy was an avid gardener and spent most of her time cleaning, seeding, feeding and looking after children as well as animals.

We would like to thank Dr. Murphy and the Good Samaritan Society in Evansburg, Alberta. Special thank you to Jackie, Rebekah, Jay Lynn and Dianna, and many others for their care and compassion.

A Funeral ceremony will be held at Cochrane Alliance Church, Saturday February 4, 2023 at 1:00pm with Graveside and Reception to follow.

    She had more energy than anyone I have ever met. Her ability to keep up with outdoor chores, a beautiful garden, and still serve delicious meals (complete with dessert and homemade bread) on time was amazing. Yet she still had time to answer questions patiently, and patch up scraped knees. She was an all around wonderful person. I wish she could have lived forever.

We have wonderful memories of her visits to Manitoba and will always remember her spunk, and good-hearted nature… we so looked forward to our time spent with her. ❤️ Rest in peace Aunty Dorothy (aka Aunty Dot).
