Jean Voigt of Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the age of 87. Born in Warsaw, Poland on Feb.04, 1925, Jean met and married her husband John in Nienburg, West Germany and immigrated to Melbourne, Australia, where her two daughters were born. The family then immigrated to Ontario, Canada where Jean lived most of her life in Toronto until her move to Calgary in 2005.

Jean was a kind and generous woman with a love for handicrafts and socializing. She was a sewer and cook, par excellence. She raised her family while working for Wm. Neilson Ltd. in Toronto for 25 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Lekodia Ewald, husband John, and nephew Gregory Ewald.

Jean is survived by her daughter Alice (Paul) Ballantyne of Petawawa, Ontario, her three grandchildren, Sara, Joanne, and Neil; her daughter Theresa Voigt and her husband Jeffrey Allan of Cochrane, Alberta and their two dogs, Kylie and DeeDee who made her laugh; her sister Alice Krywejko and nephew Jerry Krywejko of Toronto; her brother Ted (Renee) Ewald of Etobicoke, Ontario, niece Christine Patton and great nephew Nash Patton.

Cremation has taken place in, Alberta. Jean will be interred next to her husband in the Park Lawn Cemetery, Etobicoke, Ontario in the Spring of 2013.
