March 12, 1941 – May 21, 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that Ed passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary, Alberta at age 76 with his loving wife Lotte by his side.
Ed was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta leaving at age 18 to join the Army where he served for three years. He married Lotte in Calgary on November 29, 1969 and shortly after they moved to London, Ontario. They moved back to Calgary after two years.
Ed was a kind and generous person and liked by everyone he met and always ready with a helping hand. He enjoyed socializing and getting together with family and friends. He loved both car and motorcycle racing and was a member of the Calgary and District Target Shooters Association. Ed loved the outdoors where he spent his time dirt biking, ice racing, and camping with Lotte. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed is sorrowfully missed by his loving wife Lotte (nee Radke); his three sisters, Pearl McLeod, Myrtle Wolstoncroft, and Rubi Coyle; and many nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family, near and far. He is predeceased by his parents Adney “Joe” and Lucille (nee Jordan) and his brother Hugh (Bud).
A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel 4121 17 Ave SE Calgary, AB on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
