Dan Thompson died in the Foothills Hospital on December 7, 2015.
His death was caused by lung cancer.
Dan was born on March 12, 1956 in Calgary. He is a long time resident of Cochrane having spent most of his life here and having family ties in Cochrane dating back to the late 1800s.
He worked at a number of jobs in Cochrane over the decades and was also a locksmith in town and in the surrounding area for many years. He was an avid pool player and a member of the Cochrane Legion.
He is survived by friends and family who will remember him for his honesty and generosity, his keen and inventive intellect, razor sharp wit and wry humour.
Rest in peace Dan. You will be missed.
