December 3, 1930 – April 23, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of Anne Mary Thompson on April 23 2020, at her home in the Bethany Care
Centre, Cochrane AB. She was 89 years strong.
Anne was born the eldest of 6 children on Dec 3 1930, in
Vancouver BC, to Anna and Stephen Dumas.
She is survived by her baby sister Sharon Ruehs, 4 daughters, Nicole (Todd), Melanie, Michelle (Ed) and Deanna, 2 sons, Eric and Tony (Corine), 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Anne is predeceased by her soulmate, Melvin Eric Thompson,
her son Bradley, 3 brothers and one sister.
Anne had a successful career as both a journalist, and a
homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother,
and she is remembered for her outgoing personality, love of people, and
commitment to her family. She had a gift for making all who spent time with her
come away feeling better about themselves. Love was her second nature.
The family wishes to thank the Team at Bethany Cochrane, for
their unending love and devotion to Anne these past 7 years. Their compassion
and kindness provided Anne and her family with a strong sense of security and
peace.
Due to current circumstances, a celebration of Anne’s life
is planned for August 2020 in Cranbrook BC. The family can be contacted for
more details closer to the date.
