It is with deep sadness we announce that Hazel Nellie Stevenson has passed away peacefully from a brief illness on April 17, 2020 at her home in the Bethany Riverview Seniors facility in Calgary. She was 84 years old.
Hazel was born one of 9 children July 29, 1935 near Lintlaw, SK to Carl and Effie Engdahl and the last remaining sibling.
Hazel is survived by her son Barry Stevenson (Leslie Coulter) of Cochrane, AB; daughter Lori (Les) Ford of Red Deer, AB; grandson Brock (Jenn) MacMillan of Red Deer, AB; great-granddaughter Rayne Chartrand of Pierceland, SK and many, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Hazel is predeceased by her husband Harold Allen (Al); parents Carl and Effie Engdahl, eight siblings Edna, Harold, Walfrid, Douglas, Irene, Helen, Ingrid and Alvin.
Hazel is remembered for her infectious smile, outgoing personality, love of family, and joy of cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed singing along at special familly occasions. Hazel was also an avid volunteer for a variety of organizations.
Hazel loved golf, curling, gardening, help with organizing family reunions, pickling, cooking, baking and Coronation Street.
Due to current circumstances, there will be no funeral service.

The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses, and caregivers at Bethany Riverview Village in Calgary SE for caring with compassion and kindness for Hazel in her last few years. We also wish to thank friends and family for their many messages and calls of condolence.
