Steven "Paul" Clifford

August 25, 1940 — November 19, 2024

Cochrane

With great sadness we announce the passing of Paul Clifford on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 84. He was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. In Early 1967 Paul met Marlene in Shaunavon, married and soon after moved to Calgary, Alberta for 10 years. In 1979, the family made Cochrane, Alberta their forever home.

Paul was devoted to his family and watching all his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was also a wiz at fixing almost anything. As a skilled carpenter and framer, with a lifelong career in construction, he took great pride in his craftsmanship. His love for woodworking extended beyond his work as he enjoyed fine finishing and building things with his hands. Whether it was a small project around the house or a large construction job, Paul’s dedication to his craft was evident in everything he did.

Outside of work, Paul was a man who cherished the outdoors. He loved fishing, boating, camping, and off-roading, spending countless hours in nature with family and friends. His passion for gardening was also something he held dear, particularly when it came to harvesting vegetables to share with loved ones, ensuring that everyone could enjoy fresh produce throughout the year. He was also an avid fan of hockey and enjoyed watching movies.

Paul will be dearly missed by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Marlene (née Burwell); children, Vernon Clifford, Shelly Duncan, Candice (Tim) Morrison; 8 grandchildren, Nolan (Rachel), Annie, Joseph (Michaela), Sean, Tom, Amelia; Quaid and Rachelle; 2 great-grandchildren, Cara, Blake; sister, Colleen Childs; sister-in-law, Babe Clifford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Emily Clifford; brother, Jim Clifford.
