With deep sadness we announce that Jeanette Simpson passed away in Calgary, AB at the age of 91 years.
Born on a farm south of Daysland, AB to Joseph and Caroline Brausen (nee Lansing), Jeannette grew up with 5 siblings; Evelyn, Adrienne, James, Glen, and LaVerne. When Jeanette was 18, she moved to Edmonton to work as a Stenographer. It was there that her friend Marion set Jeanette up on a date with a man tall enough to dance with.
Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to laugh and appreciated the simple things in life. She was a great role model for us in life.
Jeanette will be deeply missed by her children; Ian (Michiko Ono), Doug (Camelia Wong), Richard (Florence), and Michelle (Roman) Zygadlo; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Jacquelyn; step grandchildren Chad and Jodi; step great grandchildren, Damien, Jade and Mason; numerous extended family and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her best friend and husband Ed, as well as all of her siblings.
Please join our family as we honour Jeanette. Funeral services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (404 Northmount Place NW, Calgary). Prayer Vigil and Tributes to take place Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Memorial Mass to take place on Tuesday, May 21
