April 29, 1929 – November 5, 2011
After a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s, Bill passed away peacefully in the loving arms of Diane his wife of forty-four years. He leaves behind his sons Blair and Brandy (Bernadette), grandchildren Zaciary and Emma, his brothers Walter (Pat) and Gary, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends. His love of golf and bowling led to many lasting friendships. Bill was born in Wayne Alberta to Cornelia and Thomas Semchuk. After moving to Calgary he joined the Calgary Fire Department, a career that spanned thirty-eight years, retiring as Division Chief in 1989. The family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Bethany and Father Lacombe Centres for their devoted care of Bill for the past four years. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Centennial Branch #285, 9202 Horton Rd SW. Calgary, Alberta from 2 – 5 P.M..
