January 1, 1925 – May 10, 2015
Olga Victoria Rogi passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 10th, 2015, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 90 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
Olga was born in Cobadin, Romania on January 1st, 1925 to Fredrich and Else Wilhelm. She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate York Rogi, her parents, and sister Antonia. She is survived by her brother Albert Wilhelm of Germany and sister Hannelore Reken of Oregon, USA.
During Olga and York’s 48 years of marriage they raised 5 boys and provided a loving and caring home for them and their spouses, eight grandchildren, and great granddaughter: York (Carla); Fred (Allison – Wyatt and BJ); Michael (Karen – Nicole and Justin); Peter (Catherine – Nathanael and Jessica); Richard (Laura – Chelsea and Garrett – Autumn).
Olga resided and was active in the community of Forest Lawn and a long term congregation member at Emmanual Lutheran Church. She was also a proud life-time member at the Austrian-Canadian Cultural Society where she was a member of the choir and made many lifelong friends.
A visitation will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Service (4121 – 17 Avenue S.E., Calgary) on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held at Emmanuel Community Church (3003 – 28th Street S.E., Calgary) on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 12:00 noon, with a Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
