Landan was born in Calgary, Alberta to Sheryl Anne Meggeson and is the greatest gift God could have ever given to her. He is survived by his Mom, his Grandfather, William Gerald (Gerry) Meggeson, his aunt and uncle Debbie and Alan Fenton, his cousins Karla, and Michael Fenton and many relatives both near and far. Landan is also survived by his BFF Sophia Scondrianis. They shared an extraordinary bond that began at age 5. Because of this undaunting friendship the Scondrianis family became a second family to Landan. He had second families in the Loftus’s and the Cowell’s as well. He loved them all and had a comfortable place in each of their lives. Landan also leaves his fur buddies: Samba, Murdoc and Halo who will miss his wrestling and utter love. Landan was predeceased by his loving Grandma, Janet Meggeson, one year ago. His Grandma would have been right there to grasp his hand and receive his huge hug as he arrived in Heaven.

Landan’s greatest gift from birth was his ability to love and be loved. He had an infectious and mischievous personality. He easily became the center of attention and liked to entertain and make people laugh and feel loved. Landan’s family and friends were most important to him and he was well known for giving the greatest hugs. He would drop everything to help someone out and he offered his thoughts and emotions true and pure.

Landan had a magical childhood filled with love, adventure and travelling to the lake every summer with his Grandma and cousins. It was here that his passion for water and sports began. As he grew up he played many sports. His Grandpa was his biggest fan and was always there to cheer him on. His Grandad was his mentor and he learned from him in so many ways. There were very few days in his life that Landan did not go to visit his Grandparents: a tribute to the closeness he had to them and the comfort he felt in being around them. After his Grandma passed away, he never failed to see his Grandpa every single day.

Landan and his Mom had a very special bond. Even when apart, they were together. They were able to travel and his favorite trip was to Disneyland in Florida. The carefree child in him always remained. They spent countless hours discussing and debating the trials and tribulations of life. Their love for each other and their conversations were both intense and honest.

Landan completed his schooling in Cochrane, graduating in 2008 with most of the same friends he had entered kindergarten with. These kids remain a close bunch even today. This is a testament to a select and very special group of young people! Landan loved high school and especially his French class.

After graduating, Landan held a few jobs before entering the construction industry and achieving his 2nd year apprenticeship in carpentry. He was currently working as a cook at Ducks on the Roof – a second home for him – while contemplating what to do next in life. He was in the midst of positive decisions when the Lord had other plans.

Heaven has received an angel and he is one-of-a-kind. “Carry On” Landan and share your love and humor while you watch over all of us. You will be missed on earth Love… every single day!

A Private Celebration of Landan’s Life will be held for family and close friends.
