June 2, 1942 – November 25, 2022
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Dawn McMaster announce her passing on November 25, 2022. Dawn passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at her home in Calgary, Alberta after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family.
Dawn was born on June 2, 1942, in Goldfields, Saskatchewan and raised in Kimberley, BC. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, gardening and travelling. She also enjoyed her time working for Woodward’s, now called The Bay. As her children were growing, the family enjoyed spending time at the cabin near Nelson, BC, a block from Kootenay Lake, where they enjoyed the lake, downhill skiing and in the spring and summer, where Dawn and John enjoyed gardening. Upon selling the cabin, Dawn and John travelled across Canada, enjoyed camping and numerous trips abroad.
Dawn leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, John McMaster. She is also survived by her four children and spouses; Robyn (Al), Kelli, Steven (Colleen) and Dale (Tanya); her grandchildren, Jamie, Robbie, Kylie, Megan, Mathew, Colton, Elle, Chael and Kate; her sister Lynn and brother Dennis; her nephews Michael and Kevin, and niece Deanna. Dawn was predeceased by her sister Teresa Danskin.
At Dawn’s request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
