Gerda, beloved wife of Kevin McGregor passed away peacefully after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Gerda was born January 27, 1957 in Burghausen, Germany and passed away March 30th, 2014 in Calgary Alberta. She will be deeply missed by her husband Kevin, daughter Crystal, son Doug, (Alethia), grandson Elijah, mother Hedwig, brothers; Henry (Lynn), and Steven (Leslie), & extended McGregor family. She was predeceased by her father Eugene.
Everyone who knew Gerda recognized her as a tireless worker for her family and the charities she believed in and supported vigorously; the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Southern Alberta, and the Calgary Power Hockey League. Gerda will be lovingly remembered and missed by family and friends.
A service will be held at Foothills Lutheran Church at 3104 – 34 Avenue NW on Friday April 4th at 1.30 pm, a reception to celebrate Gerda’s life will follow. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff from Unit 36 at the Foothills Hospital Special Services Centre for their care and compassion.
