Rose Marie McGonigle, of Cochrane, AB. died on April 15, 2014 at the age of 93 years, in Okotoks, AB. She was born on September 17, 1920, in Unity, Sask., to Adelard and Florida Becotte. She lived a full life raising 11 children, curling, golfing & traveling. She is survived by one sister, Lina Paradis and by children: Flora (Darrell) Newsome, Pat (Bill) Bateman, Sheila Walroth, Clarice (Harvey) Biehn, Glen McGonigle, Dan (Rosemarie) McGonigle, Lyle (Donna) McGonigle, Meryl (Mechelle) McGonigle, Shawn (Wendy) McGonigle, Murray (Lynn) McGonigle, Mary (Pat) Magee, 30 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by husband Clarence McGonigle, daughter-in-law Vivien McGonigle, son-in-law Gary Walroth, and 2 brothers, Emile and Leo Becotte. Mom was the most beautiful Rose, inside and out. She had a welcoming, radiant smile for all and an infectious laugh we heard often. She asked for so little and gave so much.
A Celebration of Rose’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 128 First Street East, Cochrane on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. ( Please note that parking is limited at St. Andrew’s, so parking is available at the new Walmart. A shuttle service will be provided to take people to and from St. Andrew’s from 12:15 p.m.- 5:15 p.m.)
