Ted Kierzek

June 16, 1949 – February 15, 2021

“He had a BOOMING voice, and a soft, mushy Heart”

Ted loved to travel, and we did! His favourite trips were road trips. He would and could drive forever, to get to someplace HOT.  He was an avid DIYer, built two lovely homes and so many projects over the years. Those of you who know Ted really well………know that a few remain unfinished.  Mostly, Ted loved his Family and would encourage them to be independent and follow their dreams. So many wonderful lasting memories from 46 years of marriage.

It is with great sadness that the family of Ted Kierzek announces his passing, on February 15, 2021, at the age of 71. Ted was a loving, courageous, funny and fiercely loyal man. Born in High River, Alberta, to Polish immigrants, Jozefa and Wladyslaw Kierzek.  He went on to live his early years in Bridgeland, forming lifelong friendships, which he valued.  Ted’s career included working as an Auditor for Revenue Canada and then Alberta Liquor and Gaming. He developed many close and enduring friendships along the way. Ted is survived by his loving wife and traveling buddy, Veronika, his children, Greg (Erica), Chrissy (Darryl) and Thea (Ben), his brother, Roman and his beloved grandchildren, Jasper, Addie and Odin. He is also remembered by his extended family and friends. Ted was a kind, gentle soul who always had a soft spot for animals. Kiwi, our dog as well as previous dogs, all knew Ted was the weakest link to snacks and belly rubs.  Ted always felt he lived a blessed life, he fought many hurdles and obstacles along the way, but he always won or compromised gracefully. This battle was unwinnable. He fought courageously, and was able to stay at home, surrounded by Family and Friends.  He will always be our Superhero. Rest peacefully, Ted.

A private family Celebration of Ted’s life will be held, at his request.
