Joyce Cursley

Joyce Cursley, known affectionately as Nana to her family, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 90 in Calgary. She was born on August 29, 1933, in Manchester, England. Joyce's unwavering love and warm presence made her a truly remarkable person who will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Joyce's positivity shone brightly. She possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel loved and welcome in her presence. Negativity was simply not in her nature. For Joyce, family was everything - the cornerstone upon which she built her life.

Joyce dedicated herself to being an integral part of her family's lives. As her granddaughters Kaitlyn and Breanne grew up, Joyce made it a priority to be present for every important moment. From school concerts and dance classes to recitals and whatever else the girls were involved in, Joyce never missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Her unwavering support and unending pride served as a constant source of encouragement for her granddaughters.

Christmas morning held a special place in Joyce's heart. Each year, she would stay over on Christmas Eve without fail so that she could wake up with her beloved family on this magical day. The joy and excitement that emanated from Joyce during these moments left an indelible mark on everyone who experienced it.

Her devotion to her family extended far beyond the holidays. They were at the core of every decision she made and every action she took. Her life revolved around those she loved most.

Sadly, Joyce's passing comes shortly after the loss of her younger brother, John.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to echo through the generations of her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Ian and Stephen, daughter-in-law Sandra, cherished granddaughters Kaitlyn and Breanne and her beautiful and precious baby great-grandson.

In recognizing Joyce's life, we are reminded of the immeasurable impact one person can have on the lives of others. Her unwavering love and devotion to family will forever be etched in our hearts. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a profound difference in the lives she touched.
