Gwen passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital after enjoying her 85 years. Gwen was born and raised in Calgary where she met her husband Max in 1948 and resided in Bowness where they raised their three children; Rob (Maureen), Bruce (Oksana) and her loving daughter Judie Bonitz. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Gwen had a huge loving family and many friends, with one very special friend Jean Betker who took wonderful care of her the last couple of years. There will be a Memorial Service for Gwen at the Royal Canadian Legion Bowness Br. No. 238, 138 Bowness Ctr., Calgary on Friday, April 13 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Gwen’s memory may be made directly to the Royal Canadian Legion Bowness Br. No. 238.
