Kerry Rhindress Hunt

April 16, 1963 — November 28, 2014

April 16, 1963 – November 28, 2014

Born on April 16, 1963 in Summerside, PEI into an air force family, Kerry spent his younger years in Moose Jaw, graduating from Riverview Collegiate in 1981. He attended art school at Grant McEwan College in Edmonton, lived in BC for a time, and settled in Cochrane, where he called home. Kerry struggled with Type 1 Diabetes. On Friday November 28, 2014 his illness finally took him.

Kerry Leaves to mourn his mother Norma Hunt Schwartz of Kimberley, BC and his brother Brian. Kerry was predeceased by his sister Kelly in 1975, his father Rhindress “Red” Hunt in 1982 and his stepfather Norm Schwartz in 2005.

Kerry will be missed by many friends from across Western Canada. He was a beloved son, brother, friend, artist, musician and sports enthusiast. He has been a member of the Cochrane Home Hardware family for many years. He spent every Monday night with his “brothers from another mother” faithfully watching football, cheering on the Chicago Bears. It was a select few that Kerry chose to hold close to his heart. For those who had the opportunity to know Kerry personally, we are all a little better for it.

Not always a man of many words he often expressed himself through his art. He touched many lives through his love of art and music. His paintings are known to many, displayed at Olive ‘R Twist and in the homes of many friends and family. You can spot his pieces right away as they have a unique, vivid yet abstract character to them. A piece of Kerry went into every one of his paintings. It’s comforting knowing that we will always have these, a little piece of Kerry, to remember him by. In our loss, heaven has gained another angel. Rest In Peace Kerry. You will never be forgotten.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Kerry at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 15, ( 114 – 5th Avenue West, Cochrane ) on Sunday, December 7th , 2014 at 5:30 pm To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Kerry Rhindress Hunt, please visit our flower store.
