November 12, 1919 – March 10, 2014
It saddens us to announce the loss of our mom, Dorothy Hunt. Mom was born November 12, 1919 in Ottawa, Ontario and adopted by Richard and Hester Moulds who loved and cared for her as if she was their own child.
Mom married the love of her life, Ross Tabor Hunt, on May 2, 1942. Together they had 6 boys: Larry, Carl, Brian, Bruce, David and Chris; and 1 daughter; Deborah (Billings).
Tragedy struck the family when her husband and best friend drowned in a boating accident up at their cottage after only 13 short but wonderful years.
Dorothy was widowed at the age of 36 to raise 7 children on her own, ages ranging from 4 months to 12 years old.
Mom was courageous, loyal, positive, caring and had a great sense of humour and a hospitable, generous attitude.
Life was not always easy but she never complained.
Her door was always open and hand never short in helping ones. The coffee was always on with a fresh baked goodie. Mom loved knitting, baking, reading, drawing, canoeing, taking pictures, and swam better than most fish.
Mom loved life and appreciated Jehovah’s wonderful creation to the extent of being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 25, 1959. She loved studying the Bible and sharing its good news with others. Her favourite expression was “better days ahead” because she was confident in the promise of the restoration of the earth back to a paradise and her hope was to be resurrected to earth to see all her loved ones again. Rev. 21:3, 4 John 5:28, 29
Mom had the gift of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. To Evie, and Daisy she was the best “Gigi” ever.
We will miss mom but we know we will see her again.
Mom’s memorial service will be held at the Ranchlands Kingdom Hall, 1705 Ranchlands Way,
