It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gene Hobbs in Calgary on January 31, 2017, at the age of 81.
Gene was born in Stettler, Alberta to Alvus D. Hobbs and Abbie Harrison. He was the youngest of their four children and he spent his childhood on the Prudden farm close to Botha, Alberta. Gene enjoyed helping his parents on the farm along with his siblings, Leone, Aileen and Rodney.
Gene finished high school in Red Deer in 1954 and shortly afterwards moved to Calgary. He worked for AMOCO for 34 years until he retired in 1990 and moved to Bearspaw. Gene was very skilled at wood working and also enjoyed working around the acreage.
Gene will be missed by his grandkids, their parents and by his wife, Stania – who is very thankful they had over 26 years together.
