We are saddened to announce that Hazel Stansfield, a beautiful, vibrant amazing wife, mother and nana has gained her wings in heaven. Hazel passed with her husband Ron and daughters Amanda and Nicola by her side one week before her 81st birthday. Born in Rotherham England in 1944, Hazel with her husband Ron and daughters immigrated to Canada in 1976. She lived most of her life in Saskatoon, moving to Alberta in 2007. Hazel grew up with four brothers and three sisters and has countless extended family in England and Australia. We will miss hearing her laughter through weekly phone calls with her sister June and brother Peter. Hazel was a restaurant owner of a successful Fish & Chip shop in Saskatoon but found her calling opening a private care home for the elderly until her retirement in 2007. Hazel is survived by her husband Ronald, married for 58 years this March 25, 2025, together for 63 years. She leaves behind her eldest daughter Renita &(James), her daughter Amanda &(Peter), daughter Nicola &(Bradley) and son Kristofer. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Victoria (23), Sarah (19), Amber & Brittany (18), Gabriel (17) and Brianna & Ethan (13). Our hearts are shattered at the loss of such a wonderful and caring lady. She was loved so greatly. She had a contagious laugh and was kind to everyone she met. She loved flowers and gardens, Coronation Street and Fish and Chips and Catherine Cookson novels. She loved to cook and bake and always called her kids and grandkids her greatest achievement in life. We are content that her pain from terminal cancer is over. We know in our hearts she is reunited with so many loved ones who predeceased her. We love you and miss you.
A memorial service for people who met or knew Hazel will be held this Saturday March 8, 2025 (Hazel's 81st birthday) at The Lions Club in Cochrane, Alberta, 109 Fifth Avenue, Cochrane, AB from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
