Gerry Babb

August 11, 1963 – July 15, 2023

With deep sadness the family announce the passing of Gerry Babb at the age of 59 after his hard fought battle with cancer.

Gerry is survived by his wife Juanita, daughter Dallas (Mark), brothers Kim (Wendy), Richard (Brenda) and Wayne (Laurie) along with many nieces and nephews.  He was pre deceased by his father Jim and mother Betty.

Gerry found his way into this world as the second oldest of four boys born in Red Deer and as a young child moved a few times before the family settled in Marlborough where he spent his childhood and later, bought his first home with his first wife and daughter.

In his early teens, Gerry discovered his talent in what would become a very rewarding career in construction.  He started working with family at J. Babb & Sons Grader Services, then moved on to Volker Stevin and finally, found his place as Vice President of Operations with the Marmot Construction family until his passing.

Gerry found joy in spending time with his family and liked to let off steam with his brothers during their atv’ing adventures in the bush.  He loved to travel different parts of the world and made a point to visit his favourite location, Maui – where he married Juanita, returning as often as they could.

Gerry loved to help and teach people at every opportunity.  He fought hard for everything he believed in and his battle with cancer was no exception.  His generous and fun loving nature will be incredibly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
