Tina passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2014. She was born December 12, 1931 in Herleen, Netherlands to Mathieu and Antonetta Reneerkens. Tina is lovingly remembered by her sisters; Antionette, and Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her brothers; John & Matthew, and sister Nelly.
The family moved to Canada in 1950 and settled in Lindsay, Ontario for a short time, then moved out west to Blueberry Creek in British Columbia in 1952. After two years, Tina moved to Calgary and worked at the Baker Sanatorium in Bowness. Shortly after she met and married Sid Gastel and had 3 children; Allen, Steven (Stephanie), and Teresa (Kent Van lderstine), and one granddaughter Peyton.
Tina worked as a PN at the Bowcrest Nursing Home until her retirement.
A Celebration of Tina’s life will be held at The Kensington Legion Branch No. 264, 1910 Kensington Road N.W. Calgary on Saturday, May 3rd. 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
