With sadness we announce that our beloved David passed away
in Calgary at the age of 86 years, with his loving family by his side.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of over 56 years,
Ada Furber, of Cochrane; his sons Lyle (Suzanne) of Calgary, and Mark (Barbie) of
Montgomery, Texas; his six grandchildren, Emily and Austin of Calgary, and
Samantha, Dallas, Evan, and Dawson, of Montgomery, Texas; his brother Stanley
Furber and family; numerous brother and sister in-laws and many nieces and
nephews and their families.
David was predeceased by his infant son Wade Michael; his
parents Stanley and Mary; his brother Glyn, his wife Marion and daughter
Rosalee; and Stanley’s wife Ruby.
David was born in Olds, Alberta and lived on the farm in the
Eagle Hill District until he went out on his own to work. He worked for his
uncles Tom and Bruce, until he went to work for Eskesen Brothers at their
sawmill, and from there he worked at Spray Lakes Sawmill west of Sundre and
eventually ended up in Cochrane. David found his calling in the lumber industry
as he worked for Spray Lakes Sawmill for 45 years. He enjoyed going to work
every day and he was highly respected by his peers in the lumber industry.
The Celebration of David’s Life that was planned for March 20th, has been postponed until further notice.
