It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Friesen on May 2, 2015 at the age of 80 years. Walter was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, but lived most of his life in the Cremona / Water Valley area. Walter was predeceased in 2005 by his loving wife of 48 years, Evelyn. Leaving to cherish his memory are his children; Gary ( Carolynne ) Friesen, Gloria ( George ) Karkanis, Cindy ( Lenny ) Ebert, Sabrina ( Roger ) Cherrington, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, his brother and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was an active member of the Cremona Legion, as well as the community and embraced many long lasting friendships. A special thanks to Foothills Country Hospice Society and appreciation to the many family and friends who made Dad’s last months enjoyable.
A Celebration of Walter’s Life will be held at the Cremona Country Fellowship Church, (210 – 1 Avenue West, Cremona, AB) on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
