Gloria May Ferguson passed away in Cochrane on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at home with her husband Doug, sister Pat and family by her side.
She grew up in Edmonton and spent numerous summers at her grandparent’s farm; she loved feeding the animals and sitting with her grandma.
After moving from Edmonton, Swan Hills and Valleyview, Doug and Gloria have called Cochrane home for the last 30 years. She worked at IDA and Rexall for 15 years until she retired with her husband 5 years ago.
Family, friends, and animals were Gloria’s true passion. Gloria treasured her grandchildren and valued having family over on the weekends when she would prepare an outstanding dinner for everyone.
Gloria loved Hawaii; once there, she would always be walking the sandy beaches, watching whales, snorkeling, feeding the birds, parasailing or simply enjoying all the beauty that Hawaii had to offer. She also loved their lake lot at Buck Lake, and spent numerous summers enjoying the sun, fishing, and being with loved ones at family get-togethers.
Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Doug; her two children, Jason (Jody) and Ryan (Jen); her 7 grandchildren, Alek, Justin, Brooklyn, Parker, Dylan, Carmen, and Austin; her stepfather, Ray; three siblings, Terry, Patricia and Ken; four step siblings, George, Linda, Karen and Ronald, as well as numerous extended family, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father, Victor, and mother, Dorothy.
A Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be held at the Cochrane RancheHouse,
(101 RancheHouse Road, Cochrane, AB) on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. We ask that the attire be fun, bright and casual to match Gloria’s personality.
