July 30, 1969 – April 24, 2019
It is with
broken hearts that we announce that Doug, our beloved Son, Brother and Uncle,
passed away unexpectedly in Calgary, at the age of 49 years. He is safely in the arms of God, whom he
loved dearly.
Doug will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Dorothy and William (Bill); his brother Rodney; his step-daughter Kaitlynn Bartlett; his girlfriend Jacqueline Dupont; his very special nephew, Cody; and many relatives and friends.
Doug was
born in Swift Current, SK and at 9 months of age, he moved with his family to
Consul, SK where he attended school until Grade 10. He then moved to Caronport, SK to complete
his High School.
Doug was very accomplished; he attended Mount Royal University where he took Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy; he worked at Insurance, Trinity One, Air West, and Custom Roll Out Drawers; and he was also an excellent road builder. Doug also had many interests; he was a huge fan of UFC and an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers and the Oakland Raiders; he loved fancy cars; he loved to travel, especially to Mexico; he enjoyed looking ‘sharp’ and he was known for his love of watches. Most importantly, is the wonderful person he was; he was encouraging to others and prayed deeply for those in his life; he was a generous, kind and caring man whose deep faith was so important to him.
