Vola Farr, wife of Howard Farquharson, passed away July 6, 2014. She is survived by Howard, her husband of almost 71 years; a daughter Keren and husband Luis Delgado; a son Donald (Fran Payne) and his three wonderful children: Cody (Niki); Stacey (Sasha); Jessica (Troy) Gano; and six beautiful great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter-in-law Marlene (Jacobs); her parents Tom and Nancy Farr and her three sisters, Bernice O’Neil (Bussey; Fletcher), Evelyn Scheer (Klinck), and Jean Farr as well as a niece, Darlene Marcil (Klinck). She is fondly remembered by her niece, Judy Bussey, and nephew Marty Fletcher and daughters and numerous other relatives and special friends including Sandy Kinch and Randa, Joyce Jacobs and Vic Wall.
Vola taught school at West Hope, Grand Center, Sunnyslope High, Westbrook and Airdrie. She had a positive influence on so many students’ lives and she was a respected, admired and loved teacher. Howard and Vola farmed in the Dog Pound and Madden areas. She was a member of the Crossfield Old Timers, Crossfield Golden Key, Cremona Gold and Silver, Madden Church and belonged to several Genealogy Societies. When Vola moved to the Bethany she was always eager and with a huge smile would participate in all the activities and events at the lodge and she happily pursued her arts and crafts.
Her family extends a very appreciative thank you to the exceptional staff of the Bethany Care Center in Cochrane for the devotion, care, and support provided to her and us.
