It is with heartfelt sadness that our beloved Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 92 years young.
Eleanor is the second youngest of 11 children; she was born in Drumheller, Alberta. Her parents were Harry and Margaret Grant.
Eleanor fondly remembered as “Henner” was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Parr (2019) and is survived by daughters Karyl (John) and Laurie (Gary), grandchildren Tami, Marcus, and Connor, great-grandchildren Akasha and Emma-Lynn, her sister Betty and sister-in-law Orliene plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was a very kind and generous soul. She loved her family with all her heart and lent a helping hand whenever possible. Mom loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed bowling, painting, theater, old movies, music, and her little dogs. Mom was a homemaker and loving mom and grandmother; she also enjoyed working for 16 years, part-time at Sears. For many years, Mom and Dad were snowbirds and avid campers.
We would like to express special thanks to Mom’s caring companion, Shelley, and to all the staff at Southwood Care Centre for the loving care and support they provided for our mom and family.
Mom, you will be forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held at a later date.
