Eileen Donelda Daniels (née Anderson)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Eileen Daniels, at 93 years of age.  She quietly passed in her sleep on July 16, 2023.  Eileen is survived by her children:  Kelly (Alixe), Tom (Terry), Chris (Jaki), Lisa (David Myers) and Nancy (Wayne Bennett), with a special place in her heart for Barb Hall.  She also leaves behind those who became most precious to her, her grandchildren:  Krysti (Brian Horton), Lyndsay (Daniel Ward), Tiegan, Colin, Jonathon, Hannah, Keegan, Caileen (Valentina Romanov), Quinn, and Amy; and greatgrandchildren:  Kieran, Mallory, Ainsley, Adalyn, and Ashton.

Born at Ethelbert, Manitoba on Oct. 3, 1929 to Thomas and Catherine Anderson, she was raised on a farm near Arran, Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon in 1945 where she met her future husband, Paul. In addition to her deep devotion and service to her community and church, as well as raising and supporting her family, she is best known for her love of music. Eileen taught accordion lessons for many years, led the Daniels band with her accordion, and performed at community, church, senior’s, and children’s special events. She continued to enjoy playing for herself, and entertaining others, until just before her passing.

Eileen and husband Paul were charter members of Altadore and Forest Heights Baptist churches where they spent many years serving on boards and teaching Sunday School. Eileen also worked as Library Assistant at Chris Akkerman Elementary School.  She moved to Cochrane in 1989 where she spent many happy years, and enjoyed travelling and holidaying with Paul after retiring in 1993.

A celebration of life will be held at Altadore Baptist Church (4304 – 16th St SW, Calgary) on Thursday, October 5, at 3:00 pm.
