Diane Marie Gauthier

Diane passed away peacefully in the Canmore hospital on July 4, 2024, at the age of 77, with her loving daughter by her side.

She was born on October 12, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta. Diane was a hardworking lady all of her life. She loved to garden and enjoyed going to bingo with her sister Eileen.

Diane’s zest for life diminished after the passing of her husband Marcel in September 2023. He was her everything and nothing was more important to her than their relationship. Their travels to the USA were her fondest memories, so how fitting that they reunited on the Fourth Of July.

It’s been a long, hard, struggle the last couple weeks. Deborah would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kirk and his staff at the Canmore Hospital for all the kind care and compassion they provided to both Diane and her over the last few weeks. 

Diane is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Wilkinson; and her beautiful granddaughter, Katherine Wilkinson. Her brother Ted (Sophie) Powlik. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel Gauthier, parents, Andrew & Katherine Powlik, brother Eugene Powlik, sister Eileen Lynes.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Diane and Marcel’s ashes will be laid to rest in a location symbolic to them.
