Lynn Davis passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. She was comfortably settled at the Agape Hospice in Calgary, Alberta and was surrounded by her husband Rob and her two daughters Erica and Christine. Other family members were a steady support for her family during the last few days of Lynn’s life, including Kaila, her beloved black Labrador retriever.
Lynn is survived additionally by her father Stanley Einarson, her sisters Wendy, Kathleen, Patti and Tracy, her brother Dean, her in-laws Peter and Nancy Davis, her brother-in-law Allan and her sisters-in-law Janet and Anne.
Lynn had lived with cancer for the past twelve years. She had been well supported and cared for through the years by her family and by a large group of friends including many loving members of the Calgary Patriots Swim Club. Her friends graciously established a rotation of meal delivery and deliveries of food and treats that the family thoroughly enjoyed. In the early years of Lynn’s illness, she was an enthusiastic member of the SisterShip Dragonhearts boat team. She loved the practices, the camaraderie of her teammates, and competing in regattas from Toronto through to Vancouver.
Lynn had many interests including gardening, stitching, running, swimming, hiking and skiing the Canadian Rockies. She and Rob were most proud of their two daughters, and have taken great joy in watching them develop into the lovely young women they are today. Lynn had a great smile and an infectious laugh that will be missed by family and friends who loved her.
Lynn was cared for by Dr. Alexander Patterson and a team of highly skilled and kind medical staff from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Her family thanks this team of health care providers who so caringly looked after her.
A private memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the near future.
