Dortha June Cross, fondly known as Skip passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2012 at the family farm. She was born November 20, 1924 in Bassano, Alberta and grew up in the Makepeace area. Skip loved the prairies in her younger days, where she helped her father show and work with their Percherons. Skip married Art Cross and moved to the Cochrane area where she raised six children. Predeceased by her husband Art and son Bobby. Skip will be sadly missed by her five daughters: Gloria ( Victor ), Joan ( Dave ), Chrissie ( Nato ), Donna ( Ed ),and Susie ( Frog ). She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren: Davey, Nicole, Melissia, Kate, Ivy, River, Doug, Angela, Danielle, Mikey, Johnny and Holly. Four great grandchildren: Dave, Samantha, Kassidy Grace, and Raegan. As well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Skip’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 128 First Street East, Cochrane, on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Ray Goodship officiating.
