Barry Russell Cross

June 20, 1953 — December 10, 2022

June 20, 1953 – December 10, 2022

It is with profound sadness; our family announces the passing of Barry Cross at the age of 69. He passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Barry was born on June 20, 1953 in Hanna, Alberta. He met and married his wife Lynne in Olds, Alberta. They had two children, Breanne and Coby whom they raised on their quarter horse and cattle farm but moved to Salmon Arm when the kids were young, to pursue a life in the Shuswap, owning a successful family run restaurant. They later moved back to Alberta, where they settled into retirement in Cochrane.

Barry loved playing, coaching and watching hockey and golf, volunteering his time to junior nights and dedicating any other spare time to his children’s sports and extracurricular activities.

When we think of Barry we think of how much he loved his family, he always put them first. He’ll be remembered for his love for horses and everything country. He’ll be deeply missed but he will always be greatly loved and remembered.

He is survived by his wife Lynne, his daughter Breanne and her husband James, his grandchildren Anna and Cayden, his brother Randy, his sisters Julie and Jacquie, his brothers and sisters in law and his many nieces, nephews and friends.

The memorial service will be held at the Cochrane RancheHouse at 11:00am on Friday, December 16, 2022. The family invites all family and friends to attend. Those that wish to make a donation on behalf of Barry can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
