September 25, 1942 – January 9, 2013
Keith Cannon passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus after a courageous journey with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born in Winnipeg Manitoba, Keith devoted his life to giving the very best of himself and brought out the best in others. His life was Christ-centred and his faith sustained him throughout his life. Much of his career was devoted to Ministry endeavors from pastoring to street ministry. Music gave him great joy and he was an accomplished singer, loving the good old hymns best. Keith preached for over 15 years at many of the chapel services at Trinity Lodge, and had dear friends there that touched his life as they shared their faith together. He and his loving wife Lynn worked together for all their married life. They started All About Seniors Inc. in Calgary and were devoted to giving care with dignity and respect to their clients and families. The wonderful All About Seniors family of caregivers were a delight to his heart as they respond in love, compassion and integrity to their clients. He got great joy from sharing special moments with the family pet and therapy dog Casey, the ever handsome Golden Retriever who was a delight and constant treasured companion. Cats Lacey and Crash spent many hours snuggled on Keith’s lap to watch anything “ Law and Order” or a football game. He thoroughly enjoyed his season tickets for the Calgary Stampeders and could out yell any fan. He loved golf and was often heard yelling out some of his favorite expressions; “What the Sam Hill”, “Good night Caesars ghost” or “Gosh me”. Keith proudly completed a ½ marathon run during a period of remission with his Leukemia. Special thanks to the amazing Tom Baker staff from the doctors – especially Dr. Carolyn Owen, and all staff from those serving to cleaning. Thanks to the Palliative Homecare Team and our dear sweet Jennifer King R.N. who helped provide the support necessary to have Keith pass away at home. Keith is predeceased by his parents Margaret and Gilbert Cannon. He is survived by his loving wife Lynn whom he loved dearly. Lynn fondly referred to Keith as “me ever lovin’” The two enjoyed every minute of their life together. The simple things in life were the most precious. Keith is also survived by his precious daughter Karolyn (Mike) and the best grandchildren ever Christopher and Anna. Also his sweet daughter Stacey and his amazing son Kevin. Keith delighted in sharing in the lives of his children loving, them unconditionally. No matter what life had to offer his children they always knew they were the delight of his heart. Also survived by treasured brother Brian Cannon and his wife Elvira who have always been there in love and support and with a suitcase of Elvira’s pre-frozen lasagna at every visit to Calgary. Also loved nieces and nephew and their families: Colleen Davies, Craig (Pam) Cannon – children Natayla and Tiahna, Lori Anne (Brian) Sandve – children Devon and Kiersten, Riccardo and Marco Valle, all in Vancouver B.C.
