August 11, 1932 – June 18, 2018
George passed away peacefully in Calgary on June 18, 2018 at the age of 85 years. George was born and lived in Windsor until moving to Alberta in 1993. Most recently, George was living in Cochrane, Alberta. George is predeceased by his wife Mary-Lou (2002).
George is survived by his son Tom (wife Joan) of Chatham, Ontario; his daughters Pam Gossmann (husband Dan and children Randy, Emily, and Gary) and Cathy of Cochrane, Alberta; his son Scott (wife Elaine and children Kiana and Natasha) of Harrow, Ontario; his brother Jack (wife Gail) of Windsor, Ontario; as well as nieces and nephews in Ontario.
George was dedicated to his family and was a respected teacher of science and art at Riverside High School in Windsor. He was also an accomplished artist, had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed classic movies.

At his request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember George may make donations in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or another charity of their choice. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and support received from others during his illness – particularly those at the Carewest Sarcee hospice.
