Brett Douglas Paul

Brett Douglas Paul, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18 2024, at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. 

Brett was born on September 15, 1961 in Perth, Ontario to Wilmer and Margaret Paul. He was raised in Lanark, Ontario, moving to Calgary in 1982, where he continued to make many life-long friends. 

Brett dedicated many years of his life to highway construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and a spirit of camaraderie with his colleagues. Regardless of the challenges he encountered, Brett always maintained a cheerful disposition.

Brett's life was a celebration of generosity and he truly embodied the spirit of kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. 

A true lover of the outdoors, Brett found solace and happiness in nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the thrill of hockey, but above all, he treasured the moments spent with his lifelong friends and family. Brett always dreamt of owning a small cabin by a lake, where he could enjoy the tranquility of the water and ice, ever hopeful of landing “the Big One.”

Brett will be deeply missed by his brothers, Blair and Blaine, and he leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted uncle to Tammy, Jamie, Amy, Tanya, and Kelsey. His special long-time friends, Nancy Rivers and Aaryn Stearns, also mourn his passing, cherishing the memories they created together over the years.

He is reunited in spirit with his parents, Wilmer and Margaret Paul, and his sister Brenda.
