Fenna went to be with the Lord on June 19th at the age of 87. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Stien (Henry) Jonker, Andrew (Fay) Biesbroek, Ed (Anne) Biesbroek, Hank (Terry) Biesbroek, Trudy (Ed) Vermeulen, and Yolanda (John) Bosma along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters. She was pre-deceased by her infant son David in 1959 and by her husband Gysbert in 1993.
Fenna was born on May 18, 1927 in Scheemda, The Netherlands. She married her only love Gysbert in 1949. They immigrated to Canada in 1951 along with their 3 young children. Over the years Fenna lived in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, B.C., and Alberta adding 3 more children to the family. Her last years were spent in Cochrane and her final months in Calgary at the Holy Cross Manor.
Fenna’s body will be interred at Queen’s Park Cemetery in a family ceremony. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th at 1pm at Cochrane Alliance Church, 902 Glenbow Drive, Cochrane, AB.
