Arthur Philip Lange

December 30, 1937 — January 8, 2025

“Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together” – von Goethe

Arthur Philip Lange passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2025. To his last day he was surrounded by the family that cherished him. His wife, Valerie, of 63 years, children Gavin (Marit), Jennifer (Dave) and Graham. His 5 grandchildren whom he loved more than words can express, and a large, close, extended family.

Arthur was a kind soul, caring endlessly for the people (and dogs) in his life. Humble, handy, and intelligent, his creations, be it cars, planes, or rockets, became “works of Art”. Armed with a finely tuned wit, he made everyone around him laugh yet feel at ease. Incredibly considerate, Art was always there to help. A teacher at E. P. Scarlett for 25 years he dedicated his career to helping others. The outpouring of condolences confirms the world has lost one of its finest gentlemen, he will be sorely missed.

A loving thanks to the staff at Southwood Hospice where Arthur spent his final days. The exceptional care provided allowed Arthur to pass comfortably and with dignity.

Bragg Creek was home for Arthur and Valerie for many loving years. They watched their grandchildren grow up there and holds a very special place in their hearts. And so, Arthur asked that his memory live on through gracious donations to the Bragg Creek Trails Association https://braggcreektrails.org/donations/ so more could find solace in the majesty and wonder of the Rocky Mountains that he loved so much. Alternatively, any charitable donation made in his name to a cause close to your heart would be deeply appreciated.

Farewell Grandpa, Dad, Pop, Arthur, husband and friend; until we meet again.
