Darrel Aasen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5

2020 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 76 years old.
Darrel was born to Evelyn and Olaf Aasen on November 24
th
,
1943 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Growing
up in Moose Jaw the memories that were made from a wonderful childhood were
shared throughout his lifetime.
His career in sales began with BF Goodrich Tires in Calgary AB. This is where he met and courted Marsha Aasen (McDougall) who later wed on February 24
th
, 1968. Darrel went on to be an accomplished salesman advancing all the way up to a District / Regional Manager with BF Goodrich Tires which required him to move to Kitchener, ON, Winnipeg, MB and finally back to Calgary, AB. Darrel later went on to become a successful co-owner of Century Floor Coverings in Calgary. Darrel and Marsha were blessed with three children, Kelvin, Scott and Jodi, who in Darrel’s world were ‘his everything’.
Darrel is fondly remembered by his amazing generosity and ability
to cook. Holidays, special occasions and
Sunday dinners were always a big hit at the Aasen household. Darrel also loved
to travel. His favorite place to travel to was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to which
many trips took place over the years.
Darrel is survived and will be deeply missed by; his children,
Kelvin Aasen (Karen) of St. Albert AB, Scott of Cochrane, AB, and Jodi of
Cochrane, AB; his 3 grandchildren, Tristan, Nicklaus and Jakob of St. Albert,
AB; his brother Wendell (Carol); his sisters Sandra (Ken) Nerland and Audrey
Marshall; special long-time friend, Eugina Rich of Coronach, Saskatchewan; along
with many nieces and nephews. Darrel is predeceased by his wife Marsha Aasen,
his parents Evelyn and Olaf Aasen, and his brother Del Aasen.

A celebration of life with be scheduled at a later date when friends and family can be together to share memories of Darrel.
