MORGAN, Godfrey “Mike” Joseph
April 30, 1944 – August 6, 2022
We are saddened by the sudden passing of Godfrey “Mike” Joseph Morgan of Cochrane, Alberta at the age of 78.
Mike was a loving husband to Barb of Cochrane; a father to Michael Morgan (Tania) of Cochrane; Melissa Morgan (Baljit) of Calgary; Loralee Bellamy (Scott) of Cochrane; and Norman Cobble (Rachel) of Airdrie. Mike is predeceased by his stepson Norman.
Mike loved his grandkids and cherished every moment he spent with them. He had a special relationship with each of his 10 grandkids: Skye, Carson, Sara, Sydney, Aliya, Kelsey, Jodi, Camryn, Jayme and Luca. His time spent with grandkids and watching them do their activities was what Mike enjoyed the most. He was very proud of each and every one of them.
Mike was born in North Battleford and he spent most of his youth in that area. He later moved to Calgary and settled in Cochrane in 1974. Mike worked as a carpenter and worked all over Canada during his career until he retired in 2009. Mike had many friends throughout his amazing life. He enjoyed his visits and coffee time with friends and family near and far.
Mike was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, boating, hunting, spending time at the cabin, gardening and exploring the beaches of Vancouver Island and Hawaii with his wife Barb. Traveling with Barb throughout their marriage was always a highlight for Mike.
Mike will truly be missed by many but never forgotten. A private service will be held as per Mike’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Diabetes Canada or the Alberta Cancer Foundation. A special thanks to all the staff on Unit 83 of the Rockyview Hospital for their amazing care.

To the FAMILY of Mike Morgan. … We are so sorry for your loss, not only your loss, but our great (little?) town,, Not so little anymore. It says here he moved to Cochrane in 1974… That’s how long we’ve known him!!
May God guide the days ahead… and the memories bring a blanket of comfort… When Nathan heard he was hospitalized he said, “For sure I’ll pray for Mike.” When Kaida heard, she said, “OH NO! I always liked Mr Morgan. I liked his jolly laugh. Didn’t he used to call her Sam?? Or was that the other neighbour close by. Mike had a nick name for her… for sure.
Will be praying as decisions are made…. May God Guide.. May you feel HIS peace. L
We grew up with Mike in the North Battleford, Wilkie area we used to spend time with him and
Aunt Ida and Uncle Bill in the summer times going back and forth between the two.
He and Errol, Garry, Eddie were always doing something together. Both Eddie,Garry and cousin Eugene have gone on before him so he will be in good company. Should be like old times for them all. Rest in Peace Mike you have earned it.
