Survived by his sister Jean residing in the UK, his 3 daughters, Penelope, Karen, and Christine and 6 grandchildren, Michael, Deirdrie, Matthew, Alexis, Joshua and Sarah.  There were many special friends who shared in his life journey’s:  Rod and Elba Collins in Mexico, Dixie Robinson (who predeceased him in 2020), Jan Brawn, Brian Johns, Anne Bird, Al & Darleen Hamper, Val Stahl and his most recent friend, Trish.

David immigrated to Canada in September, 1957 just prior to Stella and his daughter arriving in December of the same year.   They began their life in Calgary, Alberta but moved to Edmonton prior to their other daughters being born there.  David was promoted early in his career as a Chartered Accountant to Vice President of Finance with Horne & Pitfield Foods Ltd and retired when the company was eventually sold to Provigo and then Sobey’s 35+ years later.   David and Stella spent their retirement years in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico.   They returned to Canada two months before Stella passed away, and David decided to stay in Canada rather than return to Mexico.  In David’s last 6+ years, he developed a community of hardy, talented and spirited bridge players who he immensely enjoyed challenging each time they met.   David was also a keen expert Sudoka player at the international level and played chess online or with whoever had a board and time to play.   In his earlier days, he was an avid tennis player, and could often been seen sailing his catamaran whenever possible.

A private family service will be planned for in the UK, but plans have not been finalized for a memorial service in Calgary.
