MACKROUS, John George
October 20, 1926 – January 3, 2018
John George MacKrous died peacefully in the care of Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB on January 3, 2018 at the age of 91.
John was born on October 20, 1926 in Joliette, QC to Michael and Sarah MacKrous. John is survived by Emma (MacKinnon), his wife of 64 years; sons John (Kathy), Fraser (Fang Yi), Douglas (Karen), Bruce (Alyssa) and daughter Penny (David). John’s beloved grandchildren also survive him: Robyn, Meghan, Andrew, Jerome, Nathan, Adam, Tristen, Brandon, Sarah, Reece, Beth, Emma and Tess.
If it is true that, “the measure of a man is how well he provides for his children”, John could undoubtedly be measured as a great man. John was a caring and loving father, always ready to help and give advice. He loved to travel, read, draw trees and always spend time and dance with his wife Emma.
The family is very grateful to Agape Hospice for providing a loving place for John, as the end of his life neared.
If friends would like to make memorial tributes, they may do so at The Salvation Army Agape Hospice (www.agapehospice.ca/donations.asp).
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
